Dear participant,

The aim of I AM TOGETHER was to have an international character. In autumn 2003 we orientated on the possibilities of realisation and development of our plans by meetings, discussions and exchange with several partners, ambassadors and advisors to be. At first hand we focused on an event connected with the enlargement of Europe.

Involved were: Instituut voor Maatschappelijke Innovatie, Leiden, Eveline Eshuis, Teunen Konzepte, Germany, Rick vd Ploeg, European University Institute, Nel van Dijk, Institute for Publiek en Politiek, Jan Groeneveld, Ministry of General Affairs, Philips, Klasja van de Ridder, European Commission, Ivette Gielissen, SICA, Jet creemers, the Art of Meeting, Joe Hennon, Directoraat Generaal of the European Union, Brussel, Beam Systems, Amsterdam and Sharp Europe.

After an inspiring orientation period we had to conclude that the format we designed asked for an organisation which would grow much bigger than we could possible take care about. So the suggestion to discuss the essence of humanity in this form found its conclusion in this try-out, this orientation period. The ideas and insights will be off course be fused with both our future enterprises. We would like to thank all people who were in one way or another involved in the I AM TOGETHER experiment for their frank and enthusiastic coöperation.

In het najaar van 2003 onderzochten we het concept voor I AM TOGETHER op realisatiemogelijkheden in de context van de uitbreiding van de Europese Unie. We ontmoetten veel enthousiasme en mogelijke connecties. Echter bleek het project groter te groeien dan we wilden aangaan gezien onze andere werkzaamheden. Hier de brief verstuurd aan betrokkenen.
